Privacy notice
Last updated: October 2026
This notice explains how we look after personal data for the VelvetVic website and service. We keep it plain on purpose.
Who we are
VelvetVic is a service of Weird Wisdom Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15665363, registered office 1 Alfriston Park, Seaford, England, BN25 3LS. For anything about your data, email hello@velvetvic.com.
The website and enquiries
If you contact us or send an enquiry through this site, we hold what you choose to give: your name, your email address, your business and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to set up the service if you go ahead. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and the steps needed to enter into a contract. Our web server keeps standard technical logs to stay secure. We do not run advertising trackers.
When VelvetVic answers for a business
When VelvetVic handles calls, messages, chats and bookings for one of our business customers, we are processing the personal data of that customer's own callers and enquirers on their instructions. In that work the business is the data controller and VelvetVic acts as its processor under a separate written agreement, which sets out what we may do with the data, how we protect it and when we delete it.
Who sees it
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for marketing. We use a small number of trusted suppliers to run our hosting, telephony and messaging, and they only process data on our instructions and under contract. Some of those suppliers may process data outside the UK, in which case we rely on the safeguards the law requires.
How long we keep it
Website enquiries are kept for as long as there is a live reason to, then removed. Data we process for a business customer is kept for the period set in our agreement with them, then deleted or returned.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. If the data concerns a call or message handled for one of our business customers, we will pass your request to that business, who is the controller. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date above.
